    Default Marvel Premiere Classics

I've mentioned it before, but I've been collecting the Marvel hardcover series, Marvel Premiere Classics. (Hmm... come to think of it, that could explain the title of this thread.)

The latest one (at this writing) is 51: Avengers: Under Siege, and includes Avengers #272, Guest Starring Alpha Flight! - the Atlantis crossover issue.

To date, from memory, the Alpha references have been:

12: Kitty Pryde and Wolverine, which includes Logan learning about the death of James Hudson
34: Mephisto Vs, which has a single-panel cameo of a then-dead Snowbird in Mephisto Vs. X-Men
41: Iron Man: Iron Monger; #s 195 and 196, with Shaman
44: Avengers: West Coast Avengers Assemble; Puck is on the cover of #1
45: Avengers: The Contest, which contains Contest of Champions (I just scanned a panel for another thread).
46: Infinity Gauntlet which mentions the death of the team (they got better)
51: Avengers: Under Siege, which includes Avengers #272 - the Atlantis crossover.

In case this is of interest.

Wait. You named the thread that, why exactly? I'm confused.

I do. I read it in a comic book once. Well, the question was answered off-panel, but it was there, honest!

#52 is Marvel Universe: The End.
Sasquatch is on the cover to #1, and #s 5 and 6 have Alpha Flight as parts of crowd scenes.

A hidden one just came up:
#20: Wolverine: Not Dead Yet reprints a bunch of Wolverine covers, even though the contents don't actually appear in the book.

Included are #s 142 and 143, with the Hudsons and JP.

    Two new ones:
#66: X-Men Alpha Flight is obvious (we've known about it for a while, but I just got it yesterday).
Downside: It doesn't have the bonus pages from Classic X-Men.
Upside: The stories are in chronological order, not publication order.
#77: Rocket Raccoon has a triple mention (and nothing more than a mention) in a text piece that tells us that Mike Mignola, Bill Mantlo, and Carl Potts (who worked on the Rocket Raccoon mini) were about to go work on Alpha Flight.

Ah yes, the now classic "switch creative teams" bit. I remember it well. Not fondly (although I admit to being fascinated, for a short while, by Mignola's dark and creepy artwork), but well.
