At the time I presumed that meant 8 issues plus a 0.1, but reading it now it definitely looks to be a 0.1 plus 7 issues.
    I can see how 8 issues is a cromulent reading, but I still read '8 with a .1' as either 9 or 8.1 .

That, and the idea that she survived what Madison did to her just seems silly. And, she survived all this time, then decides NOW (for any given value of now, after all this time) to come out? And, what, Madison never ever thought to check for that? And, he made the suit out of the thinking parts?

It would require way too many leaps of thought... but simply 'downloaded into a new body' totally makes sense to me as is.

I think it's just been badly paraphrased and that 'starting with a special 0.1 in May' rather than 'with a special 0.1 in May' would have been the better way to phrase it.

    Ignore that!

Confirmation from Greg Pak himself via twitter:
@AlphaFlight_net Hey, it's the 0.1 plus eight issues. So the solicit is wrong -- should read 1 of 8.

    From FVL on twitter:
Alpha Flight #1 should be the only $3.99 one. RT @JonnyMcGarrigle Will the rest of series be 3.99 and extra sized or 2.99 and normal sized?

Yes...$15.99 is the going rate for a quality Alpha Flight comic.

Some FVL quotes from over on Dale Eaglesham's board:
Windshear was a mutant who was depowered by House of M. Earthmover is a more interesting case, but if there's going to be a "Junior Shaman" running around, wouldn't we rather see Talisman?
The X-Office has declared Madison off-limits to us, I'm afraid.

    Box, though...
