Default Will Shaman Appear In Doctor Strange?

    http://www.ew.com/article/2015/06/22...-strange-comic

Will Stephen Strange still hold the moniker of Sorcerer Supreme?
AARON: Yes. Again, that’s one of the things that sets him apart. Even within Marvel, he’s not the only character who deals with magic and even right out of the gate, in #1, we see some of those other characters and we kind of set up that Strange has a peer group, and they get together to have some beers and talk shop. But within that group, it’s very clear that he’s the guy at the top. The mystical challenges that our universe faces are ultimately his responsibility. Yes, he’s still that guy, but that said… we’ll see other Sorcerer Supremes over the course of this story.
Given's Aaron's love of Byrne's AF and his frequent use of cameos for the characters I reckon we have a chance...

Oh, wait, you mean an upcoming comic (not the movie)...
Yep, it's entirely possible. Maybe even likely.

While I am glad to see that Shaman isn't forgotten, I am not a fan of Jason Aaron's writing style. He's a great writer, just not my style of reading. His THOR run was "great" - but I didn't enjoy it at all. (And that's a character I love immensely!)

I think Aaron is a very versatile writer - his Wolverine & The X-Men is very different to his Thor which is very different to his Star Wars.
I'd be prepared to give Strange a chance.

I liked his Wolverine And The X-Men, but his Star Wars was hit & miss (the first story arc felt inconsequential; just a bit of Star Wars' Greatest Hits, the second is looking up).
    Didn't read Thor.

I'll probably pick up the Shaman issues of Dr. Strange.

I'd pick up the issues that Shaman appears in, just out of dreaded curiosity.
Certain would not be worse that what Fraction did with him in Defenders.

I'm not remembering such a thing?

Also, curiosity will get me, too.

    Was from this:

Essentially the issue opens up with Doctor Strange rolling in the bed with one of his "college" students or something rather.

I absolutely LOVE the Defenders. LOVE them.

But I could not make it past the first issue with this series.

But then I've not been a fan of any of Fraction's writing, really. Not to say he's not a good writing. Much like Aaron, he's a good writer, he's just not my cup of tea.

I'm a little confused. I got the impression from that first comment that Shaman had appeared in Doctor Strange, and was badly written. Did you mean 'what Fraction did with Strange in Defenders'?

Just based on that, I get the impression Fraction is one of those writers? One of the crop who make everything as base and degraded as possible, so people fawn over them?
    Ugh. Not a fan.

I don't know what the appeal is. I tried out PastAways and The Spire, and they were that kind of thing, and I didn't read past issue one of either of them.

I've never thought about Fraction that way before, though.

Yes, sorry - with what Fraction had done with Doctor Strange in the first issue of Defenders that he wrote.

    Absolutely painful.

Yeah decent little appearance. Actually was treated with respect and gave some insight.
