"May", yes. Or it could be another Alphan. Maybe Marrina is teaching swimming classes?

It's unlikely, as UXF is supposed to be a secret covert team that the rest of the world don't know about, so I don't think he'll be flaunting it.
#20's solicit reveals that Storm is the new teacher, so I suppose that as they're on the same team we may see the odd cameo of Eugene hanging at the school.
Remender's run was tied quite closely with W&TX so Humhries run could well be too.

Hm. Didn't FVL and Pak already change Puck, when they made him all insane and cuckoo?

I'd imagine that that was to the after-effects of having returned from Hell and whatever The Master's Department H did to him to get him back from there/afterwards (A story I kinda hope Humphries toys with down the line) and that their plan was to sort him out had there been time. (It screwed up Wolverine too, when he returned, to be fair.

He was together by the time Hulk:Mayan Rule came around.

Yes, but as BVG points out, what're the odds of them making their stories follow his character, vs. his twisting his character to say what they want to say?

Another article, this time from CBR:

    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=41085

    with some quotes:

While more characters will join as the series progresses, Humphries' initial line up of characters will include Psylocke, Storm, Alpha Flight member Puck, and the six armed sorceress known as Spiral. "This is a line up of haunted, powerful people. You may not want to be in a room with them, but it's a great line up for a comic."Psylocke, Puck, and Spiral have all done morally ambiguous -- and especially in Spiral's case -- down right villainous deeds. Each of these characters would be somewhat at home in a team that tackles morally murky missions like X-Force. Storm, however, has more of an uncompromising reputation so her inclusion in the team might surprise some readers -- but not Humphries. "Listen, Storm is the same woman who ran off in Tokyo and re-emerged looking like a punk rocker from CBGB. She may be a queen, a goddess, a teacher and a leader, but she's still a rebel, and a wild card."
Like Storm, Puck is a veteran of hero teams, but the diminutive adventurer is not a mutant and therefore has never been a member of the X-Men. He's best known as a member of the Canadian super team Alpha Flight and was last seen helping his team mates and the Red Hulk repel an invasion of Earth by the Mayan Gods. "Puck is a bad ass. He's like the Marvel Universe Indiana Jones. Despite being small of stature the guy has no problem staring into the dark abyss and responding with a sarcastic jab."

I'll definitely be checking this out. It's normal for a writer to pay some lip service about the characters they're going to be using, but this reads different. It's such an unexpected mix of characters, and the writer sounds like he knows and loves these characters, like this is a genuine fan wanting to write about a character he's excited about. I appreciate that.

I'm hoping the 'strong powers' part was just poorly worded. When the interviewer teases him, he talks about the strength of Puck as a fighter, the strength of his spirit, and the strength of his wit. He doesn't say anything about 'powers' when elaborating, so I'm hopeful nothing silly will happen to 'power up' puck, because we don't need writers overpowering characters left and right to prove how cool they are.

I own those issues, and I respectfully disagree. There is not enough face-time for Puck there, nor does he say enough, for us to actually know that he is now not bat-s*%t crazy anymore. And if he WAS written as NOT crazy in Hulk, that may very well just be because the writer didn't pay enough attention to how he had been previously written, rather than because he had been "cured off panel" or something like that. Which means a future writer of Puck, may then choose to ignore that he seemed to perhaps be cured of the crazies in Hulk, and write him as still crazy anyways. Who knows?

I categorically deny that Puck is anything like that. Puck is the glue that holds Alpha Flight together, a true hero, not some dark and twisted patsy that belongs with psychopaths and killers. I have a strong feeling i will be dropping this new series almost as fast as i can read the first few issues.

"Listen, Storm is the same woman who ran off in Tokyo and re-emerged looking like a punk rocker from CBGB..."
Geez! Hello! CBGB's was Ramones territory. Ramones' fans did NOT look like Storm did, they were not THAT sort of punk-rockers. The spikey-haired look started in England, then moved on to LA, before finally catching on with the rest of the world; by that time, Ramones were years past ever playing CBGB's, and the trashy bar was nothing more than a trashy bar again. Aren't the Marvel offices in NYC?! Geez, get the facts about your own city right!

    Yes, it does.

Given that what Phil quoted specifically says he's not a mutant, and compares him to Indiana Jones (a non-powered human), I'm going with 'yeah'.

    I categorically agree!

Actually I disagree with you both (not sure if Messor was agreeing or disagreeing), it has been shown several times even way back in Alpha Flight vol.1 he had a dark past. Even after vol.2 he became an alcoholic, formerly a demon inside him and recently got back from Hell.

We know in his past he was a mercenary and has fought in the Tonkin Gulf, has ties to the Russian KGB, fought in Maracaibo. He is friends with Domino and Taskmaster and various other mercenaries. Guy does not have a clean past.

Heck, he led these guys remember?

I think some are over-reacting. Wait and see the issue when it comes out and then judge his personality
