We do see a Wendigo with a streak of red "fur" and green shorts. So I suspect that's our "hint" that Heather is turned.

I'm glad you picked up on that too; I wasn't sure if I was just seeing what I wanted to see.

I didn't really pick up on anything relative to Mac though, but I read it quickly.

Frankly, I couldn't finish it fast enough especially when it became clear that Alpha's contribution was going to be pretty light. Man, I'm surprised at how irritating Iceman is now. He didn't seem that bad during the few issues of Uncanny (?) I bought leading up to Northstar's wedding. At least he's still his usual charming self.

    Good review

Glad you guys said that, because I'm partially color blind and never even noticed the red haha. I called it she would be turned so not surprised.

Wonder why bites and scratches are enough to turn people? Seems Talisman could be turned now too

Great review. I am really enjoying this story arc... or at least I was until the last page. Its hard to tell with Marvel, sometimes death is death and sometimes its a 3 month absence.
I think the Wendigo with the red tint in it's mane was a stroke of genius... very subtle, yet most people realised it right away. Brilliant.
The mention of the Spirit Realm in issue 11 gives me hope that Talisman will return.
One thing though, and please enlighten me if I'm wrong. I've read most of the Wendigo appearances over the years and always believed that there were two ways (and two ways only) to become a Wendigo. A) eating human flesh in Canada, and B) being turned by magic. I don't remember "bites and scratches" being used before.

Bites turned people during the story in Hulk where a Wendigo clan went to Las Vegas. Can't remember if scratches did too.

Other then that Wendigo didn't create more Wendigo generally one at a time (except Chaos War: Alpha Flight and the Hulk issue).

So...unless somebody comes up with a "why" that explains the curse now being transmitted in different ways...shouldn't we just say that this is writers/editors not doing proper research? And by that, i mean not just Kyle and Yost, but those who came before as well.

I'm pretty sure that why will be a part of the plot as it's been mentioned a few times in the issue.

"Talisman is shown as a serious contender in the magical world (which makes it strange that her father's not mentioned at all) with a nice nod to her She-Hulk guest appearance,..."

See how easy it can be?

To put in a non-specific nod to something that actually happened on a printed page, yes.

To fill in something that happened off panel, or specifically mention something, no.

Naaaaaah, don't stop on my behalf.

I'd rather sit here and debate opposing points of view on Alpha related stuff with you folks than do most other things.
