Anyone know where this is from? It looks professional...?

I would love to see a full size image of this...

I don't recognise the first image, but it's by Byrne. Or somebody who'd decent at forging his style and willing to forge his signature. (You probably noticed, but the 'looks professional' comment makes me wonder...? And the awkwardness of Guardian's neck doesn't look that great.)

The first and last are probably commissions. The last (which is most, if not all, highlights from the X-Men up until somewhere in the 100s) would have cost a fortune! If it was a commission, and not a promotional poster from the time.
    What does Aurora's sign say?

The first and last are definitely fan-coloured commissions.
There's an interesting story regarding the 3rd one over on Rob's site. (I would link but I'm on my phone)

So in the first one, I suspected Byrne. The signature is too small for me to make out. But the Wolverine is unmistabkly Byrne. However, looking at the smiles on Shaman, Puck, Marinna and Aurora - they all seem really, really off for Byrne. Not that they're bad... it just doesn't look like his style. They, along with the way Namor is drawn, almost looks like Erik Larsen's style (including that odd smile). See Erik Larsen's Savage Dragon example here. So that threw me off.

... and the article also answers my question about Aurora's sign.

Yeah, first thing I noticed was that Namor doesn't really strike me as Byrne's typical Namor either.

Yeah. The more I look at it, the less Byrne it looks, except for Wolverine. And maybe Puck.

But everyone else? No way. Look at Snowbird too. That does not look like Byrne's Snowbird. That looks like MY Snowbird. There's no detail or anything.

There's a thread here with lots more over the years: http://alphaflight.net/showthread.ph...e-AF-Commision
    That's some wonky Byrne then...

Maybe it's his way of showing his displeasure of working on Alpha Flight, which apparently he had no intention of originally doing.

Drew Wolverine all nice. The rest, all look wonky.

Although I just recently read, that neither him or Cockrum cared for Wolverine, and had planned on writing him out shortly after the "all new X-Men" era began.

How crazy would that have been?

And Phil, if you want, you can merge this with the other thread if there's an existing one. I don't mind, if it helps keep the forum tidy!

It took me a while to recognise the style, because you're all right; it doesn't look a little off. But even without Phil's confirmation (thank you, Phil!), I was eventually able to figure out that it was either Byrne or a very good imitation.

Some of his commissions aren't representative of his best work. I've seen that before.

Mr. Jabez Wilson laughed heavily. "Well I never!" said he. "I thought at first you had done something clever, but I see that there was nothing in it, after all."
"I began to think, Watson," said Holmes, "that I had made a mistake in explaining. 'Omne ignatum pro magnifico,' you know, and my poor little reputation, such as it is, will suffer shipwreck if I am so candid."
