Default X-Men: The Hidden Years #14

So, I've recently been re-reading Byrne's series that filled in the gaps between the reprint years and in #14 I came across a character that struck me as familiar...

I'm now wondering whether Byrne intended her to be the person who would go onto become Pink Pearl(possibly not given his apparent dislike of his AF time), or if it was just a similarly drawn criminal circus fat lady(more likely I suppose)...

I remember reading that story and thinking the latter at the time. This was the last series by Byrne I really enjoyed. Having more stories with Havok and Polaris with the original X-Men was a treat. Now you got me wanting the two trade paperbacks of X-Men The Hidden Years before they go out of print like AF Classic Vol 1 did.

I've actually never heard of these. At least, not that I recall. I used to drink. Well, I still drink water. It would be silly not to.

I'd recommend them, they're pretty fun, old-school Byrne superheroics.

I often used to consider reading those when I used to drink water. I'll have to consider it again.

Does this circus lady have the same gap between her front teeth as Pearl? If not, I'll say it's not her. If so... could go either way. If we can't tell, we can't tell.

Much as I love Byrne's stuff, he does repeat himself.

Hopefully you'll like them, apologies if you don't.

They're nothing groundbreaking, and don't affect the Marvel Universe past or future but they're nice stuff, especially as Byrne's last ever Marvel work.

Once upon a time, they exploded from the pages of The X-Men. For a moment, they were "Canada's answer to The Avengers."

    They were ALPHA FLIGHT....

    ...once upon a time.
