My favourite part of the interview:

"So it's safe to say you'll be working on creator-owned books for the near future."

"At least for the near future, sure. Actually, I've just done something that every freelancer hates to do: I have begun to turn down some of the work I've been offered at Marvel and DC. Mostly covers and things like that."

I think it is awesome to see creator-owned stuff doing well enough for somebody to be able to do that.

Always enjoyed Walt Simonson's artwork. Very unique, very detailed, very epic... his original run on Thor was some of the best I've ever read.
Would love to see Beta Ray Bill appear in the next Thor movie... if CGI can create a gun-slinging raccoon and a bad@$$ living tree for a Marvel movie, they should be able to create a god-like hammer-wielding alien horse.

I'm pretty sure they are saving Beta Ray Bill for the Omega Flight movie. You know, the one where Alpha Flight is dead, and Sasquatch is a crying drunk.

    Or not.

I've never been a big Thor fan, but the bits I do really enjoy were Simonson penned/created.

Okay, on a serious note, I'd have to echo Phil's thoughts. Simonson's run on Thor, was really the only Thor that I enjoyed.

I personally wouldn't buy a creator-owned series on his name alone though.

There aren't many artists/writers I follow (I usually go by character), and I haven't read nearly enough of Simonson for him to be one of them.

But that series does look pretty cool.

In the case of Uncle Walt, as Thor fans affectionately call him, it would be a mistake to miss out on his stuff. Creator owned or otherwise.
