    Really? Why so?

I do think Joss can do better, but I didn't find either bland or generic... but I think they would be bland and generic in another age. Like the '70s or '80s.

Episode 3: mildly better. At least they had some characterization and character growth.

The "well-known super-villain" was fairly horrible.

There is, at least, some potential here. I just think that it needed to start off great and grow from there, not start off bad and only grow real slowly.

The characters are continuing to evolve into more interesting personalities. Still liking Agent Coulson in this, also liking the veiled hints as to something that happened to him in between the Avengers movie and this series. I hope they continue with this.
Also happy with the Marvel character they introduced as a potential (fingers crossed) villain for future episodes. A throwback baddie from the 70s and 80s, actually one of my favourites growing up. Really hoping they bring him back.
Having said that, there are definitely a few weak points in the show. It needs to add a bit more character development... and it really needs to continue drawing from the Marvel Universe for both villains and good guys. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of Marvel characters the are realistically never going to be in the movies.
There aren't very many "must see" TV shows in my household... but this is now one of them.

I watched both 1 and 2 with my son, and he didn't like either. #1 was OK but bland as all say, #2 was pretty lame to me, he hated it, pointless. Haven't seen #3 yet.

I saw #3, and I liked it. When we saw Quinn and his secretary walking, they reminded me of Flashback's kids.

After the first two, I said I wanted them to branch out - well, they're branching. I'm happy about that.

    Was that "Graviton"?

I'd like to see a short debriefing of the team with Maria Hill, updating the status of the people/objects collected. I liked episodes 1 and 3, and it makes sense that episode 2 focused on the team. Hydra, in the background...and what about that doctor who was saved by the 'Hooded Hero'?

    Yes. Yes, it was.

That could be cool, but I'd save it for later. Also, it runs the risk of turning into one of those sit-com clip shows where the main character says 'this is like one of those sit-com clip shows'.

Bernard: Daaggh! Can it stop boring conversations?
Fran: No, none of them can do that.
Bernard: Mine can. (picks up his phone receiver and speaks into it) Shut up about your phone.

    I enjoyed Ep.3

There was a lot more to it than the first two, and apart from the two tech-geek's it was pretty much what I wanted from the show. Hopefully it carries on improving.

Okay, I'll admit it; this week's Asgardian-type episode of this show was, no holds barred, EXTREMELY well done.

I thought that the last episode, maybe two, they were FINALLY beginning to develop the characters properly. But this episode, put them over the top, sell out, into downright awesome territory. Really making the characters 3-dimensional, feeling human (well, besides Coulson, that is...ahem!).

    Kudos.

Still wish the characters had felt this real during the first few episodes, instead of taking this long to make me like them.

Never thought i'd like Grant, either, but now i do, very much so.

I saw this episode but still found that only 3 characters were truly finding a 3-d identify, Fitz, Simmons, and Coulson. The other three still play the one-note game too often; one's a spy, can fight, the reluctant hero, and the newbie with her own annoying agenda who all keep doing the same thing over and over again.

Liking this series more and more with each episode. Really enjoyed the Asgardian angle to this past episode. Also surprised at the hotel room scene near the end... was not the direction I was expecting that little story line to move, but still intrigued.
I'm thinking a status update to some of the characters and objects will come back into play later this season or next... hopefully Graviton will be back at some point.
I think this series will just keep getting better and better.

I did enjoy the episode, but felt it suffered a little from the misleading advertisies - it was set up to be a follow-up to Thor 2, when really that movie was just used as a springboard for the ep, and to remind viewers that SHIELD exists in a world with Asgardians.

OTOH, it does explain why a Ghostbusters villain can slay dragons.
