    I've got plans to see it in the next week or two, and won't be reading a spoilery review before then...

    Like, how the book of 'Fellowship' totally spoiled me for the movie! No warnings, either! It was like I knew everything that was gonna happen!

    I agree with a lot of your points but not all.

    I also think the wargs are a great improvement - they look like wolves as they're supposed to, not hyenas!

    And, also, I agree about Smaug.

    It's a terrible adaptation... but as a movie?
    Um... I don't know. I can't be sure what I feel about it; it has good points and bad points.

    Calvin: It took hundreds of years for these woods to grow, and they leveled it in a week. It's gone. After they build new houses here, they'll have to widen the roads and put up gas stations, and pretty soon the whole area will just be a big strip. Eventually there won't be a nice spot left anywhere. I wonder if you can refuse to inherit the world.
