We know in his past he was a mercenary and has fought in the Tonkin Gulf, has ties to the Russian KGB, fought in Maracaibo. He is friends with Domino and Taskmaster and various other mercenaries. Guy does not have a clean past.

Heck, he led these guys remember?

Yes, but he became SO MUCH more than that! I don't want to see him revert!

I like it, I always thought Judd should be featured in another book say MCP or something. In an X-Book? Sure why not? His history reads like Wolverines in a way lending plenty of history to be explored.

Um...yeah? Except, some people feel Wolverine's past was better left in the dark, especially with what they have made of it.

Not saying Puck'll be the same. We'll see.

I think I was disagreeing, and therefor you and I are now agreeing. But how can I know? I'm just (counts on fingers) one guy!

I think most of us are saying we don't know enough yet to judge. But some of us are reacting to what little we do know.

    Quoted for agreement, then LOLZ!

Am I deluded (I mean, more than we thought), or did he already have an MCP story?

This sounds hopeful. I think the only way to get a successful AF series is to give the characters more face time, and this is a definite way to do it. As long as he is given equal treatment as the other characters, and not used as comic relief or a punching bag then I'm signing on for this book.

Puck has done some sketchy things in the past--the reason he ended up in Hell--so it's not surprising he would end up on a team like this. However, even with his new I-went-to-Hell-and-all-I-got-was-this-messed-up-personality, I really hope they don't turn him into a soulless murderer. I don't mind him being hardnosed, and willing to do things other heroes aren't, but I don't want him to be running around killing people then heading home to knock back some beers like it's all in a day's work.

I guess it's wait and see.

Yes, wait and see. So why am i now dreading opening the pages and seeing how he is written, rather than being excited?

Because you're an AF fan with as much faith in Marvel as they have earned from their past AF character assassinations.

For those who haven't heard of Humphries before, there's a pretty decent interview over at CBR: http://robot6.comicbookresources.com...sam-humphries/

Interesting. I own issue 1 of Fanboys vs. Zombies, and really enjoyed it, but never continued with the series; never realized it was this same author. Higher Earth was also one of those series that i was interested in, and very nearly purchased, then backed away for monetary reasons at the time.

As I wait for a new Nova or Guardians of the Galaxy book, I've been looking for other cosmic super hero books from other companies. I almost bought Higher Earth also but when I flipped through the pages, the two main characters reminded me of Cable and Hope so I passed and I've been buying DnA's Hypernaturals instead. Has anyone read Higher Earth? If yes, any good?

For those that do digital but didn't pick the series up at the time, there's a sale on today (August 3rd):
