Thread: Hudson's infertility

    Default Hudson's infertility

Does anyone remember where it was said that the Hudson's couldn't have children? I thought it was around the first death of Guardian (#12), but I might be mistaken...

I'm positive kids were never addressed by Byrne one way or the other.

My recollection was that there was nothing specific mentioned, but a comment was made that the Hudsons were having difficulty having children. Can't remember were exactly. This was addressed in X-Men Unlimited #45?

Driftwood: Well, I got about a foot and a half. Now, it says, uh, "The party of the second part shall be known in this contract as the party of the second part."
Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
    Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

From the 'floating speech bubbles' scene in #11:

"You understand, don't you, Mac? I've got eight million brothers and sisters, and..."
"It's okay, honey. Really it is. If the Hudson line stops with me what does it matter as long as I have you?"

So it sounds like not having kids was Heather's choice, not Mac's infertility.

Ah, that was it. A conscious decision not to have children, not a fertility issue.

The ol' noggin's memory isn't quite what it used to be...

    Anyway, thanks everybody!!

It helps that I keep the issues next to my computer.

Don't you hurt your back, moving them aside while you try to grab the issue you actually want? How many "official" AF issues are there, now? 160? More?

    Heh, I was close.

I also mistakenly assumed that Mik's ascertation that his AF issues were "next to my computer", as he said, meant that they were stacked precariously in a pile beside his keyboard. I didn't stop to think that they could be neatly and lovingly arranged on a shelf nearby, and therefore would not require any picking-up-and-moving en masse to find any single issue; my bad.

How did Mik get your issues?

Luckily they're in a comic box.
Two, actually; and one of them's a longbox.

(It isn't just Alpha Flight, it's all their major-ish appearances; see the Chronology thread.)

(I wrote my above post before this one appeared in my browser. And no, you can't borrow my Antidismatterteleportationeksier.)
