Seems a shame they aren't doing this in Canada. 'Though maybe that'll come later.

Oh,neato, a signing at Midtown Downtown! I ought to be able to go. I'll bring my crack team of investigative reporters to cover the event! Well, maybe just one reporter and a camera. I've been to that shop before so hopefully I can find it again.

To be honest, I'm glad they're talking about AF and doing events like this in the States. When they just do it in Canada, it gives the impression that no one south of the border cares about the book. Besides, I'm sure they'll have signings up here as well.

Ah, so you're in New York? I've been wondering.
Is that where they park the Enterprise these days?

I thought it was in Shatner's garage. Or his toupee.

    It's up his trunk.
    Del

Driftwood: Well, I got about a foot and a half. Now, it says, uh, "The party of the second part shall be known in this contract as the party of the second part."
Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
    Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

    Cool.
I've spoken to Midtown and they're happy for you to take photos and for us to publish them.
If when you arrive, you ask for the Marketing & Events Coordinator 'Thor Parker' (I'm honestly not making that up, I can forward you the e-mail if you want.), let him know I sent you on behalf of AF.net and he says he'll make sure you get some good shots and access.
Obviously make sure you get whatever you want signed as your first priority. I wouldn't want you to miss out for us.

No, but it's entirely possible he (I presume, from the name) did. A guy who used to work for a CD / Comics store I used to go to (it closed down years ago, and then reopened as just a comic store I still go to:

was named 'Lucy'; short for 'Lucifer'. That's not what his parents named him.

Or, maybe 'Thor Parker' is the guy's birth name. I don't know.

OK gee thanks for the note, I might have shown up on the wrong day! Moving it to a weekend afternoon is a BIG BIG deal actually, and it makes it a hell of a lot easier for me to go!

I love the tweet on the site:
Date for #AlphaFlight @MidtownComics w/me, @GregPak & @Philjimeneznyc has changed to 2pm Sat June 18. Be there, or you hate Canada.

Ah, the reason for the change of the signing date is obvious now. Alpha Flight #1 is pushed out a week. Now released on 6/15, not 6/8

Scroll down to the Marvel Comics section at Diamond.

So we'll have to wait one more week.
