Default Northstar and Aurora in Ruins One-shot

Warren Ellis' two-issue RUINS series has been reprinted as a one issue one-shot. Aurora and Northstar appear in one panel, but it's not for the faint of heart.... the story is quite grim and the art is quite graphic. The completist should know there's an alternate cover printed as well, but it's not all fancy like the original RUINS #1 cover.

I'm a little hazy on this, but I believe that RUINS came about because Warren Ellis had been asked to pitch a proposal for 'The New Warriors'. He didn't really want to do it, so pitched a gruesome proposal that had all manner of nastiness happening to Night THrasher and friends. Marvel turned it down of course, so Ellis turned it into 'RUINS'.

    How anal is that?

Driftwood: Well, I got about a foot and a half. Now, it says, uh, "The party of the second part shall be known in this contract as the party of the second part."
Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
    Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

What i meant to say is do Northstar and Aurora play any part in the Story.
And if they do, what do they do in it?

I'm guessing...You may not really want to know ("One panel, not for the faint of heart", as rplass posted - paraphrased).

With the title of the mini and rplass' warning...I'm guessing they bite it.

They just "walk" by in the background, Aurora asking for help.

In Washington D.C., for some reason.

More than that, I will not say.

They seriously just move by in the background. We don't really know what they are, except...
    Spoilers...
