Thread: Your preference?

joe q has a myspace thing that i asked a question on this week that i really believe will work.

marvel seems to be tinkering around with its original digital conetent, it seems like it would be more cost efficient because they would be cutting out the publishing costs, although it may piss off some of the retailers/comic shops.

but i feel some of the titles that struggle with the numbers (although we all know its never been a numbers issue with alpha) would excel in this format.

i would pay $10 or whatever they charge a month to see a alpha comic online. i think it would be perfect for titles like alpha, cloak and dagger, she hulk, new warriors, etc...... that have a very loyal fan base but never pull the numbers that marvel looks for. this way a series can come out without having to worry about the axe falling because of sales numbers.

oh, and if this happened, i would want the originals back. maybe hang on to arachne, because i've grown to like her.

Please tell me it's not $10 a month to read an online comic...That's a freaking rip-off.

no no no, that was just my assumption, and it wouldn't be just for one comic, probably like a subscription to 4 or 5 a month.

No thanks, but i prefer to purchase real comics.

Digital is fancy and all, but you just cant get the same feeling when you finally get that comic you have been waiting all month for, and then you pop the 2 little tapes, and then you take it out, and then you take a nice sniff of the freshness and artwork and paper material because it has a strange, yet envious smell that you live for. (Ok, i now im proably smelling toxic fumes or some sort form the factorys, but still!)
And then you rub your fingers along the crisp, fresh pages of the comic and flip thorugh to see the amazing artowrk.

Werid, but i do that lol

Nothing weird about that at all. I couldnt agree more...and neither would Stan Lee. I remember watching a documentary about the history of comics. In it they discussed the possible future of comics IE digital. Stan Lee sighted that he felt digital would never replace the real thing. He described reading a new comic in the same fashion. Boo digital Yay the real thing.

At this point I agree with that notion as well. Its been how many years since Omega? For how long have we been told to stay tuned that news is coming with no no news coming at all? Its getting a bit ubsurd at this point. I wonder how much it would cost to buy their rights from Marvel and sell them to an independant company...

I'd go with D and even leave Pointer on the team. While he may not be the most stable member, I think it would make for some good story telling if people questioned his leadership - and develop Pointer to eventually control his powers and actually BECOME a good leader.
