Thread: My American Friends

    Default My American Friends

For all my American friends on this site, I just wanted to say thank you for making me feel so welcome when i visited your country.

I just got home from spending a week visiting my sister in San Antonio, Texas. First time i have been down there.

Now, do not get me wrong - i love my country, and i love my small hometown. BUT...if i could live anywhere but where i live now, it'd be Texas. Yup, i fell in love with the atmosphere and the people. Friendly as friendly can be. Wide open spaces, and i got to fire my first handgun! Which, for this small town Canadian boy, was a real thrill!

    God bless America.

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed your time down in Texas. I have quite a few friends that live there, and I too just love it. I'm no doubt an American, I love the USA, but I'm one of those few who love their home state just as much. I'm from Virginia, (you should really visit if you get the chance), and love it. But if I could choose, I wouldn't mind bein' from Texas. I love America, but I love the South just as much.

Some people not so much I suppose.

The people were wonderfully friendly. The wide open spaces were beautiful. There was such an immense feeling of pride - i have to beleive that nobody is as proud of where they live as a Texan.

It captured my Canadian heart, it did.

As far as sites...i went to SeaWorld (got to pet an alligator!), walked along the Riverwalk, saw the Alamo, and went to the top of the Tower Of The Americas. Other than that, i went to coffee shops, Krispy Kreme (now THERE was an experience!), H.E.B., Dick's Sporting Goods, Oak Hills Church, and went to the gun range. Hung out with family and relaxed. Good times, good people, good fun, good place to be. Loved it. Oh, and went to the Hard Rock Cafe, too.

When you visited the Alamo did you happen to check out the basement?
You may say I'm a dreamer...but I'm not the only one.

Yeah, based on my experiences there, I'd have to second that!
