Thing is, guys and gals, that they do have a creative team in place. But there's no way anyone is going to be allowed to say that; after all, they want momentum heading into the relaunch and thus don't want too long a lag period from now 'til then.

Also, they don't want the creative team pestered a lot before they make a firm announcement. Courtesy is part of it, but it's mostly about that lag time thing. So Fred and/or Rich could be involved but, like anyone else, they can't say, "OK, you got me, I'm the new writer" in any event.

Whoever is writing isn't going to be a big hitter, well known and 'been around the block' a few times. It'll be a writer out of the loop for a while or an up and comer who they want to give a meaty ongoing. Seagle and Oeming were the latter, Lobdell the former.

Jason Aaron, Francis Portella, Ivan Brand, lots of possibilities in my books; and don't forget writers/artists who currently work for other companies and Marvel wants to give them a shot.

If that were the case, i'd expect that Flight would be manned by mainly mutants. Perhaps some of Canada's surviving mutants band together, as a northern satellite of X-Men?

Truth to tell, that doesn't sound all that good to me...
Ye Gods!...I hope not...Do we really need another Alpha Flight poser team disaster?

If so, and Rich and Fred are not involved...who the heck is gonna be controlling this thing; surely they didn't lure John Byrne back, did they?
They could very well have a creative team in place...They've had plenty of time to put something together. It's probably too early for them to say anything, if there is a project.

Well, we've now had Northstar killed (Ultimate this time) for the fourth time, and the last two Guardians have been a mutant American vampire/postman and (most likely) Gambit (Ultimate). On the positive side, Pointer is Weapon Omega and may be gone with MCP #12, Gambit in UAF is called Vindicator not Guardian, and it was only Ultimate Northstar that died.

Other recent appearances of AF are much more palatable!

I'm still thinking the comic book convention in Toronto late August can't go by without news on AF (and hopefully NOT like last time, where Joe Q et al simply lied for a few months... ). I think Marvel HQ learned their lesson on that one.

And I'm betting Ben here knows something, finally, and is more than pleased to not spoil our speculating just yet.

yeah, i was thinking something would be hinted towards at the sdcc, but nothing. i'm thinking at the toronto show, just like where they announced omega, plus it will be right at the end of mcp's run.

    1. Keep reading Thor.
    2. As I've noted a few times, there are definitely plans on the horizon for *a* Flight.

Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
    Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

    No WE should not.
Civilized people do not conduct 'flame wars' so do not be associating this site with any or you will find yourself promptly banned from here.

We've built up a fairly good rapport with Marvel and it's creators and we don't want it ruined.

    Final words on the matter.

As you might have guessed, Troy, we don't take to kindly about that kind of talk around here. Alpha Waves prides itself as being one of the more friendly boards around.
