this ones kind of vague, but he used to write handbook entries and has friends at marvel, got it from comic book resources forums:

I can't stand it anymore...I am starting to read Alpha Flight again tonight, lol. I have read through this series numerous times, start to finish, every appearance outside of the title, etc. I look forward to it again!

Plus, this time I will continue with volume 3 and Omega (and continue with Marvel Comics Presents and Hercules)...last time I read these runs was back before Vol 3 started.

Also, Marvel has plans for Alpha Flight next year...shhh...don't tell anyone I revealed that.

btw, really cool thread over at cbr: http://forums.comicbookresources.com...d.php?t=222969

lol...no, my name would probably not be a name to remember (I did write a few handbook entries, LOL...lame)

I just happen to have a lot of friends within editorial and licensing. Which is the next best thing to being there.

    Interesting...

Again, make sme wonder if everybody he (Pointer) has "killed" are not really dead, but merely absorbed into himself. With all his weird power fluctuations, could we not perhaps see some of those thought-to-be-dead folk suddenly get released?

by the way, nice work there, Varo!
Interesting...If (and that's a big "if") Alpha is revived in MCP #12 (and Pointer gets gone..I don't care where)...It'll be the only issue of that story I buy/read. It sounds nice, anyway.

    but............

if they actually bring back the original alphans with a strong creative team (fred!!!!) i think the series has a shot.

i'd hate to play columbo here, but right before series 3 launched, lobdell was hanging out around here, omega mao was around, all of the sudden fred registers.......

listen i'm reaching, but its because i'm praying.
    Amen, brother!

well rich replied and i'm more confused than ever:

Thanks for the feedback. I hope you've also sent a message to Marvel.
I have no clue what Marvel has planned for Alpha Flight so I guess I'm not involved in whatever it might be. At least not right now anyway.
    Thanks again,
    Rich K

    sooooo........

between this and fred stating he knows noting.

Seems odd to me that neither Fred nor Rich know what is going on.

Y'know, with the X-Men apparently relocating to the West Coast, and Alpha Flight has at times been located on the West Coast as well, i wonder if they are bringing Fligth back as an off-shoot of X-Men. If that were the case, i'd expect that Flight would be manned by mainly mutants. Perhaps some of Canada's surviving mutants band together, as a northern satellite of X-Men?

Truth to tell, that doesn't sound all that good to me...

Okay, another thing. If Marvel plans on launching a new Flight book in 2009, doesn't it make sense that they would already have a team in place, a team that has already submitted plans for what they want the book to look like, who is on the team, that sort of thing? If so, and Rich and Fred are not involved...who the heck is gonna be controlling this thing; surely they didn't lure John Byrne back, did they?

If John Byrne ever goes back to Marvel, the last title I'd expect him to take over would be AF.
