My second-favorite roster is the one shown in "X-Men Millennial Visions": Epsilon Flight. The roster consisted of Redbird, Gamma, Nanook, Goldensnow, and Puck, (the original). A fun-sounding team, and I would have liked to have seen some stories written about them.
(And the year 2012 isn't so far away....)
mine was around issues 70-80
Vindicator, Box, Sasquatch, Puck, Diamond Lil, Talisman, Shaman
I thought the stories were okay to lacking and the art was decent but the team as a whole rocked
Honestly, I liked the team from the end, around issues 128-130. Big, and a lot of stories to tell....
Keep your stick on the ice.
Live it.
I'm kinda with Mokole here, but I preferred the Beta Roster around that time. Manikin, Persuasion, Talisman, Pathway and Goblyn. I felt there were so many stories they could tell about them.

Driftwood: Well, I got about a foot and a half. Now, it says, uh, "The party of the second part shall be known in this contract as the party of the second part."
Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

Once upon a time, they exploded from the pages of The X-Men. For a moment, they were "Canada's answer to The Avengers."
They were ALPHA FLIGHT....
...once upon a time.
