Thread: Madison or Lil news?

    Default Madison or Lil news?

Hey there good Alpha-people! I was hoping that maybe somebody could help me out here.

It seems that there has been a whole lot of former Alpha team members who have just disappeared off the face of the earth, never to be heard from again! I find it frustrating, as I am sure many of you do as well.

It sure would have been nice to have had the Omega Flight mini actually make mention of some of these folks.

I am wondering mostly about everybody's favourite married Alphans, Madison Jeffries and Lillian Crawley (or is that Lillian Jeffries, or Lillian Crawley-Jeffries?). Does anybody have any news about them at all?

    I checked out this link
    http://www.comicvine.com/diamond-lil/5021/
which basically tells me that Diamond Lil was not depowered, and was last seen leaving the Xavier Institute with Mr. M (also known as Absalom). Other than that, no news on her whereabouts since then?

As for Madison Jeffries, he was involved in the brainwashing by the Zodiac when he was kidnapped by them, then used against his will in the Neverland internment fiasco. Apparently, he was last seen fleeing that place with Aurora. Is that correct?
Seems to me, Aurora has been seen since then. Has she never mentioned anything about Madison at all? Do we know if he is alive, or dead? Does he have control of his own mind back?
Have Lil and Madison ever been reunited?
Does anybody have any idea what is going on with these two? Any thoughts, vague feelings of good or ill? Anything?

It just seems to me that, other than having the original Alpha Flight show up from outer space during the upcoming Skrull Invasion, the best chance of having Alpha Flight re-united (now that Wild Child is back to being a villain) would be for Lil and Madison to re-form it themselves...

I do feel that these two will resurface eventually. There would need to be some reason as to why marvel decided that she kept her powers after M-Day. What that is though? I have no idea.

I think someone, somewhere, has a plan for these two and that is has something to do with Weapon X. Jeffries is far too powerful a mutant for marvel to ignore for very long.

Diamond Lil last continuity appearance was a cameo in X-Men (vol 2) #183 as part of "The 198", in two panels. Yeah, she was leaving the Xavier Institute, just like you said. Jun 2006 publication date.

Jeffries' last continuity appearance was in Weapon X: Days of Future Now #1 as a member of Weapon X. Sep 2005 publication date. I believe this is after he fled with Aurora in issue #22 of the regular Weapon X series. He also appeared subsequently in the Days of Future Now mini-series but that was, uh, in the future.

If (or when, if you are an optimist) Alpha Flight ever gets back together as a team, besides the few folk we have already seen being used in MCP and the Omega Flight mini-series, is there anybody else that you believe Marvel will insist on using on the team (or at least in the series)?

We have all commented, at various times, about Snowbird being around somewhere. Yukon Jack was mentioned as being alive (although not well) in OF issue 1(?). Is there anybody else that you think Marvel execs just would go "BLANK just has to be on this team!"

I thought Wild Child made perfect sense, everybody wants a feral mutant on their team, but I guess i was wrong on that one - he seems destined to be a little-used bad guy from now on...

The cynical me says that it is highly unlikely that any Marvel exec could name more than three former or present Flight affiliates.

DelBubs, you have had 2050 more posts than me, so I will have to defer to your ultimate wisdom.

    Well, here is one!

Kara Killgrave. Last I have heard about her, is that Persuasion/Purple Girl is a mutant who was NOT de-powered. Therefore, I think she would be a natural fit for any new Alpha Flight series.

    Anybody else?

Let's see... Robert Bruce Banner, Steven Rogers, Carol Danvers, and a few new characters... ?

Persuasion is a great character...I just never felt she quite fit into Alpha, though...

I've always liked Diamond Lil and would like to see her as a member of Alpha Flight again, but I think a lot of writers don't know how to handle Madison (being as powerful as he is).

Okay...Just to throw out some names of characters that are/have been or are a few degrees of being connected to Alpha Flight (some are Canadian and some have no particular national loyalties), who may make good members of a new Alpha Flight team...The Canadians first...

Wolverine (I know it would probably never happen, but his presence would definitely help boost any new AF book, he's also a former member and a Canadian)

Deadpool (Is Canadian, was a part of the second Weapon X program...Very popular and fun character...Could help with sales of the book...Would probably steal the scenes in every issue, though).

Beta Ray Bill (Bring him back...He's now Canadian, right? Very powerful and a favorite of many fans)

Garrison Kane/Weapon X II (Dead at the moment, but could be brought back...Possibly as a new candidate for the role of Guardian...And he's an actual Canadian citizen)

Maverick/David North/David Nord (Is a German citizen, but is a former member of the original Weapon X program...Is de-powered, but looking for a way to make amends for his misdeeds as a member of the new Weapon X group)

Her/Paragon (Ally of Alpha Flight...Is very powerful and has no allegiance to any particular nation)

That's all I've got, at the moment.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Weapon program, so not much commenting I can do on those characters.

Her? Is she the one from the Alpha Flight mini-series?

Kinda. The Mini Series was just a repeat of issues #97-100. The Avengers a badly drawn Sasquatch, the death of Mac yet again, Galactus a DS9 rip off story. Yup it had everything.

    So, on a sorta-related topic...

Does anybody have any ideas where the MCP storyline with Pointer is headed?

I'm stumped on this one. Maybe it is just too early to tell? But , really, what the bloody heck are they doing to this character? They seem to be taking the "Guardian, the man who never wanted to be a hero" storyline that Byrne started, and they have introduced a new character, in the same costume, and have twisted the storyline to the point where it seems downrigth embarassing.

[ In re-reading that last paragraph, I see that "they" has to include many more people than just those who write the storyline in MCP, as Oeming started this in OF. ]

Anyhow, I just am not sure where it is going. Is he some sort of modern-day power vampire? Is his emotional state attached to his power-fluctuations? Is his suiit really there to help him control his powers, or does it have some other unknown functions? Is Pointer going to turn out, yet again, to be a villain?
And will the real Guardian ever show up and thrash him within an inch of his life?

    Flightpath...
I'm responding to you in the 'Marvel Comics Presents' thread, just as soon as I can find it. It just seemed appropriate.
