Default Continuity - Civil War #7

I don't know why it took me so long to notice it, but the image we see of USAgent, Beta Ray Bill and Talisman in Civil War #7 must be a continuity error. Beta Ray Bill and Talisman first met in battle in Omega Flight #4, and at the end of the battle, Beta Ray Bill flew into a dimesional rift and Talisman went back to the Sarcee Nation so there's no way they could be standing around shaking hands anywhere.

So when could this image have occurred?

    Good catch!

I believe there is no explanataion to that beyond this - The image you posted was planned before Omega Flight got cut to a mini-series, and therefore they had to make MAJOR changes to the comic book (anybody remember when they said that OF was supposed to be all about how America was viewed through the eyes of Canadians? Really? Does anybody think that was really what it ended up being about? Or was it just a hurried cut-job, a story that probably Marvel now wishes had never been told, in spite of how well it sold.), and nobody bothered to change anything to make that image make sense with how the OF story actually came out in the comic.

I'm assuming this panel was drawn before OF was turned into a mini. BRB probably wasn't going to end up stuck in another dimension at that point.

Obviously, any plans Oeming had for the series, had to be tossed out the window when TPTB did a hatchet job on the title. I believe the book would have been more American navel gazing (be it from a Canadian viewpoint) had it been an ongoing. It was probably thought that would be the only way to sell another Canadian based title.

Yet another reason that I feel the higher-ups at Marvel just don't get us Flight fans. Sadly, I am not sure that they ever will.

There's also the splash page scene of the whole team together (including Sassy) in the Initiative one shot (the story where Walter goes to America and recruits Pointer).

Just because it hasn't happened, doesn't mean it can't happen in the future!

I don't think an aerial shot was the best idea either. Talisman looks like she's haggling with BRB over $20. BRB looks like an ant eater... and his costume design from the waist down doesn't leave much to the imagination.

Ah, I doubt it's Jeff Brown. But of course character designs do change. General Clarke went from black to white, after all, and Chief Wiggum and Flanders were less yellow to start with too.

I just took it as a narrative function rather than a literal scene, in the same way that I don't presume that somewhere in the Marvel Universe there's the words 'Omega Flight' written in 5 foot writing on a floor.
