Some Minor Suggestions For Mr. Oeming...

Mr Oeming,

Just a few minor suggestions that I have for you. Maybe some things you can play with when OF becomes an ongoing monthly series.

Firstly, I have a few misgivings about the role Canada's government is going to play in this series. I guess what worries me is the "let America fix this problem" approach they are taking. Let me tell you a bit about politics in Canada - we do not all hate America, nor do all of our politicians. For the most part, the left-wing and left-of-center political parties all distance themselves from America and it's policies, but we right
now are run by a right-wing political party that enjoys it's partnership with the US of A, and stands firmly behind our allies to the south. I hope that you show this spirit of co-operation and friendship between our countries.

Also, although most of us Canadians don't hate the USA, we do hate Toronto with a passion. Might wanna include that somewhere...

And, i have a suggestion. Something that would be the ultimate tribute to this still-in-mourning AF fan. I would like to see Walter Langkowski in conversation with a man named Ben. Walter would be discussing the comic book (this idea sprung out of seeing the kid in volume 1 classroom holding the comic book) that Ben has been writing based on the stories of classic AF that Walter has been telling him for some time now. Only, now Walter is upset with Ben. Walter holds up the latest AF comic issue, showing "The Death Of Alpha Flight", and he is pissed off. He tells Ben that although he told him about the incident, they had agreed not to publsih it for some time to come. He feels Ben has betrayed him, and his dead comrades. He threatens Ben with a lawsuit. Ben walks off around a corner in a hallway, saying that Walter can threaten him all he likes, but it already printed, there is nothing that he can do. We see Walter turn into Sas, and stride around the corner, saying "Mr. Diss, this conversation is finished only when I say it is finished!" Then, we see a shadow of Sas' arm grabbing Mr Ben Diss' shirt and hoisting him aloft...and sounds of a thrashing happening, off panel.
Any chance of that happening? ...please...?...

it won't happen.. it has been overused.. WAY OVERUSED.. I honestly hope Oeming doesn't pull that.. plus honestly it would be obvious which of the characters woudl die since they are all very well established characters, the only one who would be able to die would be pointer.. the glory of the original #12 is that NO ONE saw it comming, NO ONE thought that Mac would be the one to die

I enjoy Toronto quite the bit thank you very much. Go Leafs! ( *Cries for their smashed playoff dreams* )

And I think the "Let America fix it" attitude is something that alot of Canadians would have. And Left of Centre parties don't "distance" themselves from American policy, unlike Harper they just don't try and mimick every little thing Bush does. They don't try to distance themselves from Americans either, Chretien and Clinton had a good relationship. Also, how is a joint group of Americans AND Canadians not a show of cooperation between the two countries?

Actually, now the whole "not Stephen Harper as PM" thing makes sense to me. In this situation it would be out of character for him to do anything other than ask for a full occupation of Canada by SHIELD, -after which he will proceed to eat babies. :P

I'm sorry if you hate me. Not sure what I, my family and friends did to you, but I can assure that we have no hatred towards you or anyone else in the rest of Canada.
