Looks cool, but I wonder what the genesis of the idea was...it seems like a strange leap of logic to me.

Well, the whole Civil War plot has involved alot of propaganda, both in the comics, and in promoting the comics.

Plus, there's some obvious parallels between Stark's taking advantage of a disaster/controversy to start a conflict to build his own powerbase, based on the belief that he knows whats best and various real world dictators and tyrants.
