    Default Alpha Flight: The Movie

Comic movies are pretty popular these days, they're even doing a Luke Cage movie with Tyrese.

If they (for some reason) did a Alpha Flight movie. WHo would they get to star in it, if they could get anyone? Who would the main bad-guy be and played by who? And, what would they change, continuity-wise, to make it appealing to a wide, AF-ignorant audience?

James Hudson Macdonald - Vigo Mortensen

Heather Hudson - Uma Thurman (looks good in glasses)

Micheal Twoyoungman - Lou Diamond Philips (he's native american ya know)

    Eugene Judd - Weeman

    Walter Langowski - Tyler Mane

Snowbird - Kate Moss (the model!!!)

    Jean-Paul Beubier - Orlando Bloom

Jean-Marie Beubier - That Lana Lane chick from Smallvile, but all ****ted up

You know who I always thought would make an awesome Northstar? Sean Maher of Firefly and Serenity:

I know, you have no clue who he is but I always thought Charles Lafortune would look good in Northstar (Jean-Paul Beaubier), but he's not known to be such a good actor.

And Julie Deslauries for Aurora(Jeanne-Marie Beaubier) and she's a good actress

or Lucie laurier who is again a good actress

For Heather, I don't see Uma Thurman, but in a way she could do the part, but too beatiful for the part somehow But Meggan Follows get my vote

I would say Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) is better for Snowbird than Kate Moss, but it's my very personnal view on Snowbird.

I don't know who is Tyler Mane and I'm not sure about the rest, but it's a beginning

Driftwood: Well, I got about a foot and a half. Now, it says, uh, "The party of the second part shall be known in this contract as the party of the second part."
Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
    Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

Megan Follows... didn't she play 'Anne of Green Gables' when she was younger? How she has changed!

This is a nice, revival thread. I don't know of any Quebecois (sp?) actors so actors nominated to play JMB and JPB will not be French Canadian. Some choices may be a bit controversial.

    Mac: Clive Owen
    Heather: Laura Linney
    Marrina: Rosario Dawson
Puck: Peter Dinklage (from TV's Threshold or the Station Agent - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0227759/)
Shaman: Viggo Mortensen? (I read somewhere he is Cheyenne or Native American Indian)
Snowbird: Alyson Hannigan (well, a bit of a controversial casting, but can you see her as Snowbird?)
Northstar: either Elijah Wood (Frodo) or Jamie Bell (Jimmy in King Kong)
Aurora: Scarlett Johanssen (sp?) or Keira Knightley (sp?)
Box (Madison Jeffries): either Sean Astin or Michael Chiklis (from The Shield)
Sasquatch: Either Patrick Warburton or Ewan McGregor

    Here's my picks.

Guardian = Christian Bale, he has that classical 'leading man' look
that Mac sort of has, and he plays the determined 'strong' character very
    well.

Heather = Isla Fisher - Very pretty and one of the few actresses
who are considered attractive and not ghastly thin. I honestly don't know
if she has a flair for serious acting but I can see her all mothery.

Sasquatch = Scott Speedman - I really honestly think he'd be
perfect for Walter. Just the right age, might need a bit more bulk, but he's
got this Walterish charm to him.

Aurora = Mischa Barton, has the sultry look down and yet can do
the innocent girl look if she wanted to.

I agree with sengsterooney with Rosario Dawson as Marrina and
Peter Dinklage as Puck, Dinklage is a bit 'young' but he does look like a
Puck (and not because he's a dwarf). I also agree with shaman
with the pick Kris Lemche for Northstar.

Uhm... that's all I got so far, I do want Cree or Inuit actors for Shaman
and Snowbird, respectively, but I'm not familiar with a lot of actors with
    such a hertiage...

It might also be interesting to see what kind of a 'slant' one would take with the AF Movie (you gotta admit, most of the comics-based movies have a different 'take' to the characters/settings/situations in the comic).

For the AF movie, you could do something similar to "True Lies" - with Mac heading a clandestine super-hero agency (Alpha Flight), with Heather not being aware of this and thinking that her husband works as a top scientist for a government science department. Heather could be the way in which viewers are introduced to Alpha Flight and its members (much the same way Rogue/Wolvie were used in the X-Men movie).

Of course, the first movie would end with Mac's "death" and Heather replacing/assuming the reins of leader of AF, ready to lead the team in the sequel.

Scott Speedman look like he would be pretty good as Walt Spyridona thought when when he's Sas I would like to see an amalgamation of a sort of prostetic suit and CGI like they did with the thing in FF. Granted they would probably have to shoot him in front of a green screen so he would look the right size, I also like sengsterooney's choice for Puck, Peter Dinklage. I did a google search on him and the first image of him with his arms out in the kind of tada pose I said "Holy Sh!t, It is Puck!" even if he is 4' 6 "

    here is the pic

one thing I think is kind of funny though, everyone that has picked for heather has pick a redhead when really the woman could have any natural hair colour and have it dyed to match. with that said I still haven't found someone for heather yet

you were saying that you wanted a Cree or Inuit Actor to play Shaman and Snowbird, respectively. I found a mini series that was done a while back called Dreamkeeper and they have a very long list of Native actors, I don't know how many are actually of the right decent that you are looking for but I do know there a few, the one I picked was on there and it said that he is cree and from Edmonton

Yes she is the same person.

This is a nice, revival thread. I don't know of any Quebecois (sp?) actors so actors nominated to play JMB and JPB will not be French Canadian. Some choices may be a bit controversial.
Maybe you know some quebecer actors Well there is William Shatner form Star Trek, Genevieve Bujold from Ann of a thousand dayshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genevi%C3%A8ve_Bujold
and some mores like that girl from the African episod on ER.

For your choice, yes I like Clive Owen as a choice for Mac. I don't know I want actors that look a little bit older for Mac and Heather more in their 40's or look in their 40's. But for most of your choice Seng, I just don't know who they are like who is Rosario Dawson?

As for your "True Lies" idea, it's good but it would change dramatically the relationship Mac and Heather always had. I like the fact that Heather knew as much as Mac. They really are a team and that is something I would like to keep in a movie. But changing Snowbird look from a caucasian to a inuit is something I would like very much.

Shaman, I think Nathaniel Arcand look very good but a little bit young for Shaman. And Sarah Polley is way to young to play Heather.

Spyridona, Except for Christian Bale,I have no clue who those actors are.

Well, don't forget that Heather was only a teen when she and Mac first hooked up, so he has at least a few years on her.

Speaking of "True Lies", I always thought that Jamie Lee Curtis (in her younger days, not now) would have made a good Heather ... at any stage in Heather's comicbook existence. Early skinny, bookish Heather is a dead of for an early skinny, bookish Jamie Lee Curtis ... as she appears in Halloween for instance, while the later filled out and muscled tones Heather is an easy later, filled out and muscle-toned borderline sex symbol Jamie Lee ... as she appears in True Lies.

There are plenty of good Native Indian actors/actresses out there that we wouldn't have to resort to Lou Diamond. And as for Snowbird, we just have to find one of the many talented Native Indian actresses that abound out there and give her a blonde dye job. That Indian girl in that "old" t.v. show Renegade -- about a bounty hunter, starring Lorenzo Lama -- would probably have made a good Snowbird.

Unfortuantely, my knoweldgfe of the names of actors and actresses is limited, so I can't paly this game all that well. An actor who played Mac would have to be a fairly standard, 1950's looking guy of average appearance, IMO.
