Ok, Lobdell names Nemesis as Amelia Weatherly. Unfortunately, it was already established that Nemesis was Ernest St. Ives daughter, so what's with the name change?

That could be her married name.

Or another continuity screw up on Scott's part. Continuity? Aw...who cares about that?!

It could either be her married name, or she may have undertaken her mother's maiden name (would YOU want to carry the last name of a super-powered homocidal maniac? Not only that, it was the death of her mother that prompted her to BECOME said spirit of retribution)

I figure only Nemesis and Sasquatch will ever be seen again anyway. I don't think that either's continuity got truly wrecked, any screw-ups can be overlooked by other writers.
I like the mother's maiden name explanation for Nemesis. And no, I don't have #12 yet. Friday at the earliest.
ETA to optimistic news from Phil/Ben: 3 days?? [-o<

Just out of sheer curiousity, what kind of 'optomistic news' are you expecting?Originally Posted by Mokole

yea, no offense but i severly doubt they know of anything earthshattering like when af version 4 will hit shelves.
btw i read #12 yesterday and i can see why marvel put it out of its misery and why clayton wanted off.
oy vey!
The funny thing was, I thought it was the best issue up until story page 11 or 12 or so. Linear story, not hard to follow, only glaring slip was Aurora carrying Sasquatch in his big heavy form...and that is definitely forgiven for the power Clayton's visual's on the second-costume era of Aurora...BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!

With Ben's coyness about news after #12 and Phil always saying, "wait 'til #12 comes out", I'm hoping one or the other has inside knowledge that v4 is on the way sooner than we think.Originally Posted by HappyCanuck
Or it could be that in WX Alpha Flight plays a huge role.
Or it could be that Ultimate AF is coming.
Or I could be simply too optimistic and Ben is too nice to come out and tell me that he knows, nothing, nothing!
I'm staying 'hopeful', really hopeful, that Ben/Phil have good news. [-o<

None of which would in any way explain her fabricating a misleading origin; ie: her not being St Ives' daughter.Originally Posted by Scott Lobdell
I like the 'maiden name' explanation, but I like the 'not the original' one better. She's too inconsistent with the original; and it was never explicitly said in the series (outside it, yes) that she's the first (and second).
