Okay this is a quick Synopsis of how I would do first episode of Alpha Flight evolution. Not great I know but best i can do. Plz rate.

    Episode 1: Recruiting part 1
James Hudson is training in training room. He is wearing a battle suit. He is about seventeen. Specialists and scientists are studying him and taking notes in laborotories sourounding the room. Heather Hudson and Gary Cody are observing him from box room near ceiling. Gary makes small talk saiying it is impressive technology. He asks who the teenager is and is he not a bit young. Heather tells him the boys name is James Hudson and he is seventeen. He may be young but he is highly exceptional and is one of the few people who can comunicate with the suit. She tries to explain that the suit is so advanced it is almost alive! 'Hudson?' Gary asks. Any relation of hers? She sais no it's just a coincedence. She then moves onto buisness asking if Department H is going to get its funding, if it's going to get the go ahead. Gary sais that it's hard. Can they really justify this. Can they really give them the permission. Heather points out the American goverment has legalised the X-men. Gary points out that this isn't America and the goverment doesn't want a group of akward teenagers pitching themselves against dangerous criminals, super powers or not.
They argue a bit more but eventually Heather asks for a chance, just one chance. Any hickups and she would close it up. Just a chance!
Gary looks over her selected candates files and reflects these kids have had it rough. She points out thats why she chose them, to give them a second chance, to let them prove themself. Gary sais fine. He will give them the permision and a limited founding. She thanks him constantly. He sais 'Hey what are freinds for.'.
    Two weeks later. The yukon
Puck, vertically challange sixteen year old and Walter Kowski hurtle into their camp carrying boxes. Puck remarks they got great haul this time, Walter is nearly in tears, he has been cut. Puck laughs at him saying he is big scary hairy. Walter sais he isn't right now and he doesn't want to be right now. Puck sais maybe he needs some encouragement and launches himself at Walter nocking him off the cliff edge over the thirty foot fall. Walter becomes Big and hairy Sasquatch and jumps back up smashing his fist into Puck. The two battle a bit but then a motor bike pulls up and James Hudson gets off it. He explains he is from department H a goverment orgaisation recruiting team mates ect. He asks what they think. Are they intrested? Puck tells him not a chance. Mutant Dwarf freak and Big Scary Hairy Hulk wannabe arn't exactly Super hero stuff. Walter sais that maybe they should listen to him. Puck yells hasn't he got it good here. Timid Walter replies that it is great here but he'd like to give it a try. Puck sais fine be a jerk and storm s away. Walter calls after him but doesn't follow. James sais he's sorry, but Walter sais it's okay. He'd like to give it a chance. James sais good he needs his help.

    Two days later. Near Toronto
At a monestry school two miles out side toronto James talks to the head Nun asking if he could talk to Jeanne-Marie Beaubier. The nun sais she isn't her never has been. James sais she is she was adopted here after her parents and brother where killed in a car crash. The Nun sighs and sais she ran away two months ago. She sais she didn't infor the police because the church might close founding for lack of teachings. Before James can reply there is a crash from deep inside. Sasquatch appears and sai he has found her. They rush to a basement and find Jeanne-Marie locked their covered in bruises and scars. They break her out and James sais that it is gonna be alright. He turns to the nuns and tells them they are done. The cops are on their way. Over a comunication radio he tells Heather he got the big hairy guy and Mutant girl but no go on the theif guy. He walks off as the Nun is yelling the girl is a freak, heven monster, spawn of Satan. He doesn't look back.

Gladly. Actually, I'm going to make direct comments here...

    Episode 1: Recruiting part 1
James Hudson is training in training room. He is wearing a battle suit. He is about seventeen.
Okay first off, great description, but I'm not a fan of having the Hudsons as teenagers. Just because the X-Men: Evolution involved most of these people being kids still doesn't mean that the same rule applies.

'Hudson?' Gary asks. Any relation of hers? She sais no it's just a coincedence.
Everything before this is good, but now we've hit a problem. If Heather and James are still going to be teenagers, then Heather - by rights - should still be with her maiden name ('MacNeil'). That still opens Mac to being Heather's boyfriend (instead of husband) without getting creepy.

You just argues my case for me in that last sentence. Make a handful - ie: Guardian and Heather, Sasquatch and Shaman - adults. Make them the adult quotient of this team, along the same lines as Storm, Prof X, Wolverine and Beast were in the XME series.

They argue a bit more but eventually Heather asks for a chance, just one chance. Any hickups and she would close it up. Just a chance!
Gary looks over her selected candates files and reflects these kids have had it rough. She points out thats why she chose them, to give them a second chance, to let them prove themself. Okay, why is Cody making friends with minors?? SOunds a little suspicious to me.

    Two weeks later. The yukon
Puck, vertically challange sixteen year old and Walter [Langkowski - important to many a fan that we get the names correct] hurtle into their camp carrying boxes.
Okay, here we've hit a snag already. The idea of Puck as a 16 year old - in my opinion - just doesn't work. Puck's too well recognised as an adult in his late 30's or 40's. However, with this description, Walt COULD work.

Okay, let me get this straight: Walt's a cry baby?? Yeah, I can think of a handful of people who'd hate that description. But, for the sake of something 'new', I think I could live with that. The only thing I have a problem with with this scene is it had absolutely no drive to it. I make next to no sence in the plot. To me, it's a gratuitous fight scene designed to introduce characters, with no real meat to it. See, a scene like this would be a great way to introduce an interesting plot point (you'd have to do it very subtly, I'd add) later down the road, like, in the second season. But what we have here, is gratuitous violence with no meat.

Okay, fist off, I LIKE this idea! But this is more 'comic book' worthy, and not 'Saturday morning cartoon' - which we're aiming for. Sorry to say it, but no broadcaster would show this to a group of kids. Sure, we're writing this for US - mostly adults - but, like it's predecessor, this show has to be geared towards kids, with a few keys to lock in the fan community. The idea of neither of the twins not knowing the other is alive, that is a good idea.

They break her out and James sais that it is gonna be alright. He turns to the nuns and tells them they are done. The cops are on their way. Over a comunication radio he tells Heather he got the big hairy guy and Mutant girl but no go on the theif guy. He walks off as the Nun is yelling the girl is a freak, heathen monster, spawn of Satan. He doesn't look back.
Again, compelling scene, but will never fly for a saturday morning cartoon, based on the language alone. Another problem anyone who writes this series is going to face is, no matter how much the writer wants to, we're NEVER going to be able to show directly Jean-Paul's sexuality. Trust me, no one will moan and groan more about it than I will, but it's the industry we've got to take into consideration.

I personally can't stand the evolution series(you may now begin throwing rocks at me), but if it were to ever come to pass...I'd prefer to see it set up as it is in the comics(sort of)...

Mac and Heather create Dept H with the government of Canada to help defend the country by training young super-powered people(not all necessarilly mutants)and have already lost Logan(who is not a teen) to the X-Men.

Mac and Heather discover Shaman and Snowbird...and of course, Heather used to babysit for Michael's(Shaman) daughter...Elizabeth(who joins later as Talisman)....just like in the comics.

Northstar and Aurora could definately be teens too, as well as Marrina, Flashback, Wild Child, Diamond Lil, Smart alec, Madison Jeffries and even Box(Roger Bochs)...I suppose Walter could be a teen too(a prodigy who experiments with gamma rays?...or maybe he could mistakenly release the Great beast Tanaraq and become it's host body...or something.)

Puck should be older and be more of a mentor like Mac, Heather and Michael. I feel the kids who are actually on the AF team should be at least 18(to me, it just doesn't seem right that anyone younger than that should be running around fighting super-powered criminals.) So here is how I would set it up...

    Mentors:

    Guardian(Mac....35?)
    Vindicator(Heather....24/25?)
    Puck(70+? Hey...he's really, really old...why not keep him old...LOL)
    Shaman(40+?)

    kids:

    Aurora(18?)
    Northstar(same as Aurora)
    Sasquatch(18/19?)
Snowbird(5?...remember she aged to adult pretty fast)
    Talisman(17/18?)
Diamond Lil(18?...goes bad and joins Omega Flight)
Flashback(18?...goes bad and joins Omega Flight)
Wild Child(17?...goes bad and joins Omega Flight))
Smart Alec(18/19?...goes bad and joins Omega Flight)

    Madison Jeffries(17?)
    Box(Roger Bochs...17?)

    Later:
    Persuasion(15/16?)
    manikin(17?)
    Goblyn(13)
    Laura Dean(13)
    Windshear(16/17?)
    etc...etc....

The other villains could all be adults(except maybe madison's brother Scramble)...like Jerry Jaxon, Delphine Courtney, Caliber, the Master, Wendigo, etc....

    Just my thoughts on it.

Actrually, that's a very good rundown, Dana. 5 for Narya's TRUE age, but I'd go for 15/16 as her apparent age. On top of all that, I like what I saw.

LOL...I meant 5 in technical years, but she'd definitely look like a teen.

I just wonder why move Aurora near Toronto? Do we not loose the original team idea that we get a member representaing each aspect and region in Canada?

Agreed with Sylvie. Leave the convent (a monastary is generally reserved for monks - or male members of the order) in Quebec.

Right Geez where to begin. Thnx for the constructive feedback. On reflection i think this is more like Ultimate AF rather than Evolution. I'll take HappyHunuck.

1.I like the idea of it being focosud more on teenagers rather than Adults. Adults are fine for current series but you wanna make it prity different in some way. Then again I can get why somepeople wouldn't like the annoying teens thing.

2.Yeah your right. I should change that. That is weird! MY GOD WHAT THE 'ELL WAS A THINKEN!!!

    3. Heather and Box 1 and eventually Puck (he can morph appearance after the whole deamon thing. He is 95 right now.

    4. I'm not sure what i'm doing here. If u've ever read Evangelion its a bit like the Ryoji Kaji/Misato relationship. Just a bit.

    5. As a said above Puck ent 16 he's 95. Maybe not such a good idea. I decided Sas' name would be Kowski coz i didn't want to wite out Langkowski every time i wrote his name. Didn't think it mattered but clearly it does.

    6. I'm trying to build a sort of rough relationship thing between Puck and Walter. Walter is kinda a cry baby but that is to make it easy for people to walk over him. This comes back later when he stands up to Puck and takes charge when James is thought dead. Said to much later. Its an Ark i planned for future.

7.Yeah i said above this was more a sort of Ultimate AF as apposed to Evolution. Not so good eh?

8.As for writing the series this is just an idea not taking any thing like Industry into acount. Admitedly a longer idea than i planned but just a quick idea.

Syvalois: I don't know much 'bout the original series. More a V3 fan but trying to find back issues. Not easy in Edinburgh.

Happy again: Uhh not religios don't know much about religeon.

Okay thanks for that very uhh...helpfull. I'll resist the urge to blow my brains out maybe re write it.

You are from Edinburg, Scottland? Ok, I'm just wondering how much you know about Canada, because my comment had not as much to do with the original serie but more about Identity. Making Aurora coming from near Toronto will change drastically a lot of her particularity. It's like making a scottish become an englishman, both are british but it's not the same, no?

As for religion, maybe you should get away from it. I ewould just say Jeanne-Marie was abused sexually and all and to get over that she turn to religion and developped multiple personnality as Aurora do not believe in God. I would make Aurora another aspect of an abused person.

Thinking about it, Byrne did created 2 personalities that are connected to abused people. the first Jeanne-Marie was cold an very good at what she did but she was not sure of herself. She is a mix of the hard girl and the nice girl. Hard girls are the ones that are good at work but have no friends. Nice girls would do a lot for others and in the process would forget about themselves, usually shy and insecure, they feel a big emptyness inside.

As for Aurora she is the 3rd type the superficial girl. she is a mix of the 2 type above, difficult to understand, she goes from one man to another usually ending the relation before it gets too serious. (I read a little about that subject and it's from Dan Allender's book :The Wounded Heart: Hope for Adult Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse )

Ok, I think I'm getting out of the subject. bye

So you see what I mean? Scottish are Quebecers and Englismans are Canadians, I meant the other provinces.

If you wnat a good source of information in english, I would recommend Wikipedia
    For Canada:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada

    For Québec:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qu%C3%A9bec

Here for Quebec history see through the eyes of a Quebecer, but can be frustrating because the site is partially in english and you end up in many pages in french, but it's normal, the site was originally only in french.
    http://www.republiquelibre.org/cousture/ENG.HTM

And to see the point of view of a Montrealer about Aurora and Northstar
    http://www.republiquelibre.org/coust...NORTHSTAR2.HTM

But maybe there's too much info there.
