I'm wondering if it's a plot point, or just a convenience.

Between Danvers, Brand, Wendy and now (presumably temporarily?) Spider-Woman there are lots of strong female characters in it, so can see why she'd be sidelined.

Why is Sasquatch drawn to resemble Dr. Zaius from Planet of the Apes?

We have another thread about it, but my best guesses are that:
Somebody told the artist 'Sasquatch looks something like an orangutan', so he drew one,
or he looked up 'Sasquatch' on pinterest and saw a picture of *a* sasquatch that looked like an orangutan (I ran into this yesterday, trying to figure out how difficult it isn't to see what Sasquatch actually looks like).

Either way, basic answer: The artist has not done due diligence by actually looking at pictures of Sasquatch. The editor is not doing their job.
