she could have still had her blasts but would be no where near potent enough. Even from behind and with Walters guard down it would be a stretch. It happened off-panel so who knows what happened

Having now read it, I enjoyed the issue quite a bit.
In my mind, it is and will always be a cat.

Carol was at 10% and falling when Brand spoke to her. That means she was quite a bit higher when she took Walter out.
Also, she took him out off-panel. We've established that AF are particularly vulnerable when off-panel.
