Unfortunately it's not canon because it was just a plan.
I imagined something akin to Walt's work on Kyle, and that maybe he was involved in the chop-shop that created DP, under Killebrew.

I personally cannot wait for the Deadpool movie... the only thing that would make it better is if Alpha Flight were somehow mentioned in it... but that may be asking for too much.

I'm slightly torn as if they are mentioned in Deadpool (or Wolverine 3, or X-Force) that means they belong to a Fox and we won't get them in the MCU, and if rumours are believed minimal appearances in comics...

I don't think those rumours should be believed, if that helps.
It depends on what sort of mention, too. Easter-eggy mention? Or appearance somewhere?
Technically, they've kind of appeared in Wolverine... At least, Heather and Travis Hudson did (here played by Ma and Pa Kent).
