Something about that cover always bothered me. Are they wearing the right costumes? Doesn't seem to make sense. In the previous issue #104 they were all brand new red and white costumey... then this cover kinda killed that, and inside they aren't in costume at all.

Yeah, it doesn't quite fit in with the issue but it's nice and funny as an AF Christmas.
Were Variant covers around back then it'd have made a good one.

Agreed. Weren't there also a guest appearance for weapon omega in nick fury around then also ? My notes have that new costume in feb1992.

Partly the holidays - Merry Christmas everybody! - partly lack of Alpha Flight news. (I suppose?)

I'm about to be off the grid for a couple of weeks myself.

Aren't those the stealth costumes they had at the time?

And, Phil, it was the 90s! Of course they had variant covers! That's the main reason they sold so well. (Oh, and gimmick covers, and inserted trading cards.)

He looks so long-suffering and patient. And very, very cute.

I hope he only needs those glasses for reading, though.

Just realised nobody's answered this part (not that YOU need confirmation).
It was Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #32, during Alpha's World Tour. Yep, Omega was in the black costume.
