Not really in Lil's case. All they have to say is that her protective aura interacted with Mortis' death touch and this caused her to go into a coma.

I was sad that Seagle didn't get a chance to really work with the older cast, I really enjoyed that series, and wish I could have seen what he would have been able to do with the older crew.
