That's how to draw sasquatch
also notice the avengers movie tie in with the secret empire cover
Which one do you mean? I must have missed that...
Cover 1A top right. It's the leviathan from the first avengers hulk destroys with a punch
Ohhhhhhh, I get what you mean now.
I thought there was a solicit & image I'd missed.
"It's the leviathan from the first avengers hulk destroys with a punch"
That's a Chitauri creature. They've been in 616 continuity for a while, which, as you say, is a cool movie tie-in.

When did the chitauri enter the 616 universe? Catalysm? As they are form earth 1610?
Before that? I first ran into them in Nova (Sam Alexander's first series).
... specifically #3, June 2013.
Is that before Cataclysm?

hmmmm ok. Cataclysm #1 was released November 06, 2013
I've just checked the Wikipedia page: that Nova issue actually was their 616 debut. (It keeps saying #4, which was their first full issue, but #3 has a page at the end where you see the Chitauri sky-turtles.) Cataclysm isn't mentioned.

Ultimates #8 was their first appearance, which was pre-MCU.
Bit yeah, Nova was the first 616.
Thanks, Phil - I haven't read much Ultimate Universe, so I didn't know if the Leviathans were from there or not. (I knew the Chitauri in general were, but only from researching the movie.)

I agree with KM, I like that cover illustration of Sassy.
