No Alpha in Sketchbook
So, my comics just arrived in the mail today from mailordercomics.com .
They included the 16-page (includes covers, as it is wall-to-wall advertising) "Fear Itself Sketchbook", which is a big advertisement for the Fear Itself mini-series. It drops a lot of hints, shows a lot of artwork, and advertises a lot of where Fear Itself will be branching off into, which titles will be affected, etcetera.
Not one mention of Alpha Flight; Not one image of a Flight character.
Disappointing.
I hope i am wrong, but i am beginning to get 'suspicious'. Marvel seems to be still doing a lousy job of pushing the new Flight mini. Seems like FVL is the one doing all of his own advertising work for the series, with Marvel giving him no help. Not good.

That's how I feel about it. So far no mention of AF except by the creative team. I don't think they're included in Fear Itself as one of the tie ins, the event is just the motivation for the relaunch. FVL said only the first three issues will carry the FI banner, after that they're on their own.
I'm still trying to find the .1 issue in any May solicits. Well, I did find it on one website, but without a cover pic, and very little in the way of description. CBR, Newsarama, hell, even Marvel's own solicits don't have any mention of the book! Looks like Marvel is going to drop the ball again.

Sigh...Flight deserves better.
And so does Van Lente.
I fear that when this is all over, FVL will drop by the local watering hole and toss a few back with Oeming and commiserate together...

I'm actually kind of hoping they don't show up in Fear Itself, so I can not buy it. But that's short-term thinking you're right, we need the publicity more than I need to not get another *sigh* event.

It wasn't listed in the initial online solicits as it was a secret big announcement type thing, but it's definitely in the print version as a spotlight.
