The government wants Mac to lead the team, and Roxxon biochip implants in all the team members, for communication. They refuse the chips, and Heather convinces Mac to investigate Roxxon's lab. He steals evidence that the chip is to be used to control the team. He and Clarke agree to kill the idea. Mac destroys the lab, his suit is overridden, he nearly injures Albertson, and Clarke fires Chasen as liaison. But he also convinces Mac to design a chip to let the government track the team. It was all a set-up, by Clarke and Chasen.
Mac warns Heather that Clarke wanted to replace her, and they reconcile.
Mr. Fantastic notices psychometric energy in the Yukon and prepares to investigate.
